We would feel honored if you chose Fontes Nissae as an outlet for familiarizing the academic public with the results of your research, or for publishing book reviews or review essays. While preparing your contribution, please make sure that you observe the guidelines and requirements listed below.
The editorial board of Fontes Nissae only accepts original academic texts (studies, smaller critical editions of sources, research notes) which have not been previously published in any Czech or foreign journal, either in print or online. In addition, we welcome the submission of book reviews, review essays, reviews of periodicals of regional interest, as well as reports on projects, conferences and other academic events of importance with a regional focus. ing on the region. For submissions with multiple authors, the statuses of main author, contributing author, corresponding author, etc. must be clear at the time of submission. The editorial board of Fontes Nissae cannot be held responsible in subsequent disputes and litigations of authorship. In case a submission gets published, its author(s) must agree to listing their name(s), e-mail address(es) and institution(s).
Fontes Nissae is committed to keeping universally accepted norms of publication ethics, binding for all authors of academic publications. These norms, as applied in our journal, are based on the guidelines (http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines) and code of conduct (http://publicationethics.org/resources/code-conduct) formulated by the Comitee on Publication Ethics.
Each contributor is obliged to refrain from using other authors’ data, thoughts or concepts without citing their sources, In addition, contributors are held responsible for the correctness and completeness of data, including information on their co-authors. Papers sent to Fontes Nissae cannot be under consideration at any other journal or publisher. Papers under review a tour journal can only be offered for consideration elsewhere after the contribution has been officially rejected.

FORMAL REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSIONS
A short manual on using the ISO 690 style of documenting sources can be downloaded from here. This manual lists the most typical situations one is likely to encounter while preparing their contribution to Fontes Nissae.
The maximum length recommended for submissions is 40 standard pages (1 Czech standard page equals 1800 characters, including space) including notes and bibliography. Longer submissions will only be considered if approved in advance by the editorial board. Please send your submissions as unformatted text in .doc or .rtf format.
Authors are responsible for obtaining the rights to illustrations. Illustrations are numbered continually using Arabic numerals. Please also submit a list of captions listing the illustrations’ description, dating, technique (if relevant), author and source.
Send all pictures in at least 300 DPI resolution, preferably in .tif format (.jpg is also accepted). (This typically results in files with a minimum of 2.5 MB per picture.) The editorial office reserves the right to reject illustrations that do not meet the standards of the journal or the requirements of high quality print.
Please send illustrations alongside their captions through some online data storage provider (i.e. not as attachments) to redakce@fontesnissae.cz.
If submitting a study or a research note, please send 5–7 key words, an abstract (max. 1000 characters) and a summary (approximately 1800 characters) with your text. On publication, the abstract is going to be translated to English, and the summary to German and Polish. If using specialized terminology, please provide English, German and Polish equivalents for the terms used. Contributors are responsible for the proofreading of their abstracts and summaries. Please remember that abstracts are not shortened summaries: these two texts differ in structure and content.
Contributors are responsible for the factual accuracy and language of their papers and agree to publishing their papers open access on the internet in the form as they appear in the printed version of the journal without any financial claims or other forms of compensation.
All contributions undergo editorial review as well as double-blind peer review by two reviewers (or more in more controversial cases). The editorial board reserves the right to return contributions for modification or to reject them, in both cases on the basis of the reviewers’ reports. If the contributor does not accept objective and factual critical remarks by the reviewers, the journal does not publish their paper.
The editorial board deserves the right to make stylistic and grammatical changes to the text of contributions in accordance with grammatical and orthographic conventions of academic style.
Authors of peer reviewed contributions receive two printed copies of the issue in which their paper is published.
Offprints of articles are provided only electronically.
